The latest news and initiatives from the Peace River Regional District for August 2026. 

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) would like to share that the City of Dawson Creek is accepting Expressions of Interest from individuals who wish to be considered for a position on the Library Board. Applicants must be eligible electors of the City of Dawson Creek or the Peace River Regional District. 

• Applicants must be eligible electors of Dawson Creek or the PRRD.
• Commitment: 1 regular meeting/month.
• Term: 1 year (with option to renew).

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) has launched Phase 2 engagement for its Solid Waste Collection Network as part of its comprehensive review of its solid waste facility network. The review considered the number and location of facilities, the services provided at each facility, how often the facilities are used, the distances travelled to access the facilities and the cost of operating and maintaining the system over time. The review also included feedback received during Phase 1 engagement, which took place in March 2026.
